The ‘Avon Valley Shed’ group is currently in the process of negotiating a lease for the old toilet block in Fordingbridge and aims to convert it into a community workshop. The organisation is part of the ‘Men’s Shed Association’ which is a charity focusing on supporting men’s health, wellbeing, and loneliness. The ‘Avon Valley Shed’ aims to provide a space that not only supports men, but the whole community.

We reached out to the ‘Avon Valley Shed’ group in order to offer our services and support their cause; we believe it’s an important mission. As part of our service we proposed various design options that looked into transforming the old toilet block into a community building, capable of hosting a number of small craft activities, workshops and seminars, for people of all ages and gender.

The scheme design and change of use has recently been submitted to the Local Authority for Pre-Planning advice, which will inform the direction of the project.
